This course will equip participants with basic knowledge about social media tools and how to use them most effectively: free local directories like Yelp; social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn, and Google+; mobile marketing. Class time will include computer basics and how to set up accounts for these online tools.

With social media now an integral part of the marketing landscape, the need for skilled social media managers is growing. Instructors Martin Brossman and Karen Tiede are filling that need with their Certificate of Social Media Management program scheduled to begin at NC State’s McKimmon Center on Monday, January 27.  The 42-hour course includes the option of afternoon or evening programs which run through May 5.  Offered through the University’s Technical Training Solutions (TTS), this CEU course is priced at $495.00. Google’s Hummingbird algorithm update to its search engine is one of the most profound changes in years. It is a transition from a keyword driven search engine to a mobile natural voice recognition answer engine. You need to know how to optimize your website, reviews, video and social media to maximize your business success with these changes.

This training will explain what you need to do with your website, reviews, mobile platforms and social media to keep attracting the right customers. It will also teach you the pitfalls and how, many of the methods often used in the past, can hurt your business if you keep doing them. We will also go over how the changes are related to semantic search, Google+ author and keywords.

We will have open mingling and networking from 11:30 to 12:00. At 12:00, we will begin the formal presentation by the speaker. “Social Media Changes how C-Level is Doing Business” was the focus of business coach Martin Brossman’s talk to the North Carolina Executive Roundtable at Prestonwood Country Club in Cary, NC on Friday, August 9th 2013.

Brossman covered the importance of C-level understanding how economic growth must start on the small town Main Street not Wall Street, since this is the real gold of America. As towns build up their downtown on the ground, the key things that they must do to be found on the Web are beyond just having a website and a Facebook page, but do not cost more money. The most important small businesses are those with less then 15 and also Investing local are key to real growth. Martin Brossman explained the importance of the marketing department  teaching their people how to surf instead of trying to control the ocean, so all on deck are helping with the positive conversation of the business, town and community on the web.

The Continuing Education department of Central Carolina Community College in Pittsboro, NC is offering a 4-month certificate program in managing social media for small businesses, taught by Martin Brossman and Karen Tiede.

Social Media Management is a thriving new field with many opportunities, generating more jobs than there are people trained to do them.  To help fill this need for qualified social media managers, social media trainers Martin Brossman and Karen Tiede are offering a Social Media Management certificate program in the Fall semester in Continuing Education at Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) in Pittsboro, NC.
